Day 13

So juicing is going good! Day 13 almost half done. Today I upgraded my juicer, and I'm in love with my new one. Cade got new glasses today! I was pretty amazed at the Dr's office the whole process from exam to leaving with a full pair of glasses only took 1 hour and $20.85!!!!!

Day 3...they say it's the hardest

Juicing day three is said to be the most difficult. It has proven true for me. I'm craving food like crazy, and my head is a little foggy, and I'm on edge. Hoping this only lasts today! I'm still determined to go 30 days! Here's to juicing! On a side note I'm down 5 pounds since Monday!

Juice fasting day two is going good. The things I realized on day one were that is missery to cook food foe Cade. No, I'm not saying I'm not going to feed her. It is just something I have to get use to. It also takes a lot of fruit and vegitables to make the juice so I will be stalking up. I am not finding myself as hungry as I had expected which is food. It is also kinda fun to see what concoctions I can come up with. Here's to health, and the next 29 days!

Today I am starting a 30 day juice fast. It is going to be hard but I'm committed to do it until the end! There is said to be lots of amazing results from it. Obviously weight loss, but that is not my ultimate goal. Research shows that it is a perfect way to detox your body. And get a more sound mind. I'm excited to see the results and will be posting frequently about my progress.

Cade and I spent Christmas in Klamath Falls with family. It was nice, we ate good food and played bored games. Cade got a American Girl Doll! She was very shocked and LOVES her very much! She named her Zendaya Eve.

This Christmas season has me thinking about the things I am blessed with. I am realizing more and more that it is not the material things that are important, but the relationships you have are what counts.

I am grateful for my every growing relationship with Heavenly Father. I am continuing to realize that this journey is a journey chosen just for me, and that is an amazing gift. Here's a "quick" little story: Have you ever had something that you love soo much, something maybe that was expensive, and you don't want anybody to touch it? Well, my camera is that thing to me. I love my camera, I saved up a lot of money to buy it, and people know that if you damage my camera, it pretty much means death for you! One reason for this is because to me I spent an exceptional amount of money on it, and so I have a understanding of its value. Well, I ask you all to take a moment this Christmas season and try to grasp at least a little bit of the value of the gift Jesus gave us. As he atoned for our sins, lived a perfect live, and died for us it is hard to grasp that, but it happened, and the value of that is priceless. Please cherish your gift, share it with others, but try to remember it's value, and keep it with you. He did it for me, and he did it for you!

I'm beyond blessed to have Cade in my life! I believe my life would have taken a different path if she had not come along, and I truly think in a lot of ways she saved me, from a life of destruction. I love her more daily!

I'm grateful for my parents for raising me to be independent. They taught me to hold my head up in tough times, and I know that they are there for me. Love them!

Valerie my babysitter is beyond amazing. Cade spends more awake hours at her house during the week than she does our home, and she treats Cade as if she was her own child. She is always helping others out that are in need and her example, and friendship are priceless!

My brother who is always there to listen, or help me out. I don't think I could have been blessed with a better brother. Even though we don't see each other often, I know he is only a phone call away. I see great things for him, and hope he gets all he wants out of life. He deserves it! Love him!

The "church" people that are no longer the "church" people, but my friends. Their examples are amazing to me, and just seeing their examples, and hearing their testimonies, and continually getting to know them is an incredible strength to me. Hurray for new friends!!!

Dewayne who has been a roller coaster ride in my life, yet is there when I need him. He is there to help me when my car breaks down, or I need help fixing something, or someone to talk to. I am thankful for him.

There are so many people and things that I am beyond blessed to have in my life. More than I could list here, but at times when life gets a little foggy it is nice to sit down and reflect on good things.

Cade and I both wish you all a very merry Christmas, and a blessed New Year! Please remember what is important. Thank those that you are thankful for!!!!

So I am already feeling the holiday busyness. My work is busy!!! Cade joined the choir so we now have karate, band, and choir!!! I am assuming I will be attending lots of concerts. We are going to decorate spooky gingerbread houses tomorrow! Should be fun! Then will be church trunk or treating in the next few weeks, along with Cade and Mackenzies big Halloween party!!!!! Then Halloween itself!!! The rest of this year is going to be crazy!!! Don't forget to tune into Extreme Makeover on Oct. 29th, you might see me on it!!!!

The AC is turned off, it rained, the house is decorated for Halloween, costumes are bought, and we had chili baked potatoes for dinner. Fall has arrived!

I've been sick for a week, stupid sinuses!!!! Anyhow Cade is getting her green belt in karate on Thursday! This is two away from black, she is a mini ninja!!! She has decided to play the saxophone this year ( lucky me). We are just waiting to hear the official word from her band teacher that it is ok for her to do so. So soon I will be hearing her practice (hot cross buns here we come). Pretty much life is busy, but good!!!!

5th Grade....and Extreme Makeover

So Cade and I are off and running! She started fifth grade, and loves it! She loves her teacher and is enjoying the challenge that fifth grade brings!

Today I volunteered to help with the Extreme Makeover Home they are building in Medford. It was fun, and hot!!! I didn't see Ty :( but did get to see Paulie the designer.

The summer wrap up...

So...it has been forever since I have blogged. Cade has returned safely from Oklahoma. She had a good time. She said it was HOT there. She came home with a little bit of a southern accent, it was funny to listen to her talk. We have now just been getting back on a schedule and getting ready to go back to school. School clothes, and supplies are purchased and ready to go. Cade has decided to trade in her violin and start playing the saxophone. That should be a adventure for us both! She is excited to be a 5th grader, and I can't believe she is a 5th grader. It seems that just yesterday I was taking her to kindergarten. We have a new addition to our family! Our little kitty Cracker. She is adorable, and well behaved for the most part.

So the HOT weather is finally here, and I have learned that the AC in my house works great! That really couldn't make me happier. So Cade is enjoying summer!! She is spending a lot of time in the swimming pool at daycare, and is looking very sun kissed. She has a wonderful birthday. She had a slumber party, and then on her actual birthday I took her to get a pedicure it was a lot of fun! She is now gearing up to once again level up in karate. She is getting her purple belt on Tuesday, and is excited about it! She is also preparing for her long awaited trip to Oklahoma to see her dad. Yes, it is true it is happening. She is flying out in 9 days and will be gone a whole month. I think it is important for her to see her dad, and start building that relationship. She is VERY excited about this, and I am hoping all goes well. I can't wait for her to go, and then come back!!! She hasn't even left and I miss her.

So as most of you know my Grandmother passed way last Thursday. Cade and I spent most of Wednesday with her. We will miss her dearly but it was time for her to go, and she had a lot of people waiting for her on the other side. I got to see a lot of my family, and her service was very nice. Thank you all for the condolences that were sent. She was a wonderful Grandma to have. As a child there was almost nothing better than waking up to one of my Grandmother's 5 course breakfast. I have come to realize that it is hard to fully appreciate someone until they are gone. My brother came for the service, it is always nice to see him. We had a very short 16 hours together, but visiting with him is always good.

On a more happy note Cade is gearing up for her last week in school, and couldn't be more excited about the summer. We really have no plans, but she is ready. We are also preparing for her birthday party that will be taking place this weekend, and I can't believe she is entering the double digits. It is actually a little scary!!! Work is busy, so that is good. And the weather is finally looking brighter!!!! Summer here we come!!!!

So it has been awhile, and there is a lot to update. Cade is now a blue belt in Karate, something she is very proud of, and should be. She trains hard, and has set the goal for herself to become a black belt by the time she is 13. She has 4 belts left, and 3 years, it will be difficult, but obtainable. She is growing up fast. Very rapidly in the last year before I know it we will be celebrating her coming into the double digits, I can't believe she is almost 10!

So Mother's Day came and went. I have to apologize to my mom because I am horrible and didn't call her. Mom~I love you very much, and am very glad you are my mom. Life gets busy, and as that is no excuse, as you well know my time gets away from me. Sorry I didn't call, I love you!

Cade will be a big 5th grader in a month, and that is crazy. It happened fast! But she is very ready to move on, she is so over 4th grade.

Wow!!! Over a month no blogging, sorry! I can't believe it is April!!! This year is flying by like crazy, and my days always seem so full. Today I begin a weight loss competition, so I am hoping this will motivate me to lose some extra pounds. Cade won a Gold and Silver medal at her Karate Tournament, and is very excited about this. She told me the other day that she will be a black belt by the time she is 12. That is quite a goal, but knowing Cade and her determination to achieve what she wants, it will happen. So watch out, I got a ninja on my side!!! She also got amazing grades, and is still obsessed with reading. She is eagerly anticipating 5th grade, I however would like to see her not grow up so fast. 4th grade has brought a lot of recess drama, and I am sure 5th grade will be much the same. It is hard being a 4th grader. Work for me is good, and busy. I overall in general am just busy, no other way to explain it. I am trying to slow down, but am having a problem trying to decided what to cut out. In time I will have it under control. Cade and I send you all our love!

Awwww...Ok so I have had a headache for 11 days and I am over it! Time to call the Dr. In other news Cade is busy with school, and preparing for her Karate Tournament that is coming up in about 3 weeks in Seattle. She is getting excited for this, and I am hoping she does well.

My birthday was good. It was spent with friends. We just hung out and had a good time. Thanks to you that wished me a good day. I can't believe I am 30. I don't really feel old, just can't believe I have experienced 30 years of stuff.

Happy Valentines Day to all! Cade and I are doing well, lots of work, school, and extra-curricular activities. Cade is excelling in her violin playing, and is preparing for a Karate tournament that will take place in April up in Seattle. I am going to take a break for awhile. Time to take some me time out of life, and figure somethings out. I have sucked at blogging lately anyway, so I am sure you all won't miss a thing. We are settling into our new home, it is taking way longer than I would have liked to make it feel like home, but it is getting there.

So friends it has been forever since I last blogged. Our Christmas was simple. We spent it at home just Cade and I, and then a few hours at a friends house. We are settling in to our new home, and loving it. 2011 has been good so far, and I can't wait to see what else is in store. I am speaking in church on Sunday so I am busy preparing my speech. Cade and I are down with colds, but hopefully on the rebound. Other than that it has been work, school, and friends. That is what we do.

So I have been a complete blog slacker, so for all those following the blog I apologize! I have been busy with work, Church, Christmas shopping, and finding time to have a little bit of a social life. Thanksgiving was spent the Sunday before when I had friends and family over for dinner. It was a lot of fun! I got a lot of old pictures from my dad that I love! You can never go wrong with a picture! Well, wait a minute, yes you can! I found some ridiculous pictures of myself! I can't believe I was let out of the house looking the way I did. None matching, and just plain ridiculous looking clothes. Something for us all to laugh at now, but seriously what was I thinking? Anyway I will post some of those pictures at a latter date! These cuter ones will have to do for now. And I must say I am glad I got hit with the fashion stick latter on in life (at least I hope I look better now!). Anyway this week I will be working a lot of overtime, not leaving much time for the gym or anything else, but my check will be nice to do the rest of my Christmas shopping. I am still at a lose as to what to get Cade, but I am sure it will come to me. Cade is doing amazing! She still loves to read, and is getting an even bigger imagination! Watch out she may become a author!!! I am getting our pictures taken on Saturday, so be looking for you holiday cards! Hopefully the pictures turn out good. This weekend Cade spent some time with Rob. I got a lot of stuff done around the house, and had some quiet time to prepare my lesson for church. After church Cade, Angie, Robert, Dewayne, Sophia, and myself went shooting it was a lot of fun! In other news we are just preparing for the holidays. We will be celebrating Thanksgiving next Sunday as I have some family coming for the day to eat turkey dinner, it should be a good time. I can't believe how fast the year has flown by. I have been working a lot, and am going to the gym at least 5 days a week. I haven't really seen any results, but know it will happen soon!

Breast Cancer Month...

So October is one of my favorite months! It is the start of the holiday season, my house is back on schedule, we get to start baking good things, and making dinner in the crock-pot. It also is Breast Cancer Awareness Month...this is fabulous for many reasons. 1. YOU CAN BUY ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING IN PINK!!! AND WHEN YOU DO SOME MONEY IS NORMALLY DONATED TO THE CAUSE!!! 2. It reminds me of my favorite Aunt you fought a good battle, but lost. It is sad, but I love her!!! 3. It helps remind ladies that you should check your breast regularly!!!!

Another busy week...

This week is going to be another busy one in this house. Tonight is class, tomorrow activity day girls, Thursday baby shower, Sat. General Conference (four hours of church) with a baptism I am speaking at in between the four hours, Sun. Conference again. It is going to be crazy busy, so I am very glad I took a mini-vacation! Other than that this here are going good. Cade is loving fourth grade, and violin. She is starting to earn her own money, and leaning to safe it. I am just busy working, being a mom, and doing church things, and I love every minute of it!!! I will post more when I can!!!

Our AMAZING Weekend!!!

Our weekend was AMAZING!! It was just the vacation I needed. I had a lot of fun, got to relax a lot, and got to see a lot of cool stuff. We started off with dinner on the beachfront at Mo's, followed by some window shopping, and taffy tasting. That evening we got to spend some time with our good friend Burny, and it was great. Saturday we go ridiculously nice weather, and hit the beach, the aquarium, Ripley's Believe it or Not, the Historical light house, followed up with some naps, and dinner at Izzy's. Sunday we started off with Church, then a drive to Portland to visit the temple. Going to the temple grounds was incredible, and I am beyond glad we made the choice to drive the extra time to do it. All in all the weekend was great!!!

This weekend was great!!! My best friend got baptised it was incredibly Spiritual, and amazing. I got the opportunity to speak at her baptism and it was wonderful to be able to express to her how great a decision she was making! I also got a calling at Church today. Much to my surprise I was called to be the Gospel Principles Teacher. This means that I will be teaching the class that all the new members come to. I am excited to take on the challenge, but a little nervous! I was SHOCKED when the Bishop asked me if I would accept the calling. I won't be teaching class for three weeks because next weekend I will be in Newport, and the weekend after we have no class so I have sometime to prepare. I will keep you all updated as to how it goes. In other news Cade is enjoying 4th grade, and playing, or plucking her violin. Work is getting to the season where I have overtime everyday, and it is OK because the money will be nice. We are going to Newport next weekend and I can't wait to get out of town for a few days!!! It is much needed.

Officially Fall...

It is officially fall season at this house! Cade is ready to begin the 4th grade!!! She has all her supplies, new clothes, and she even accessorized this year with rings, bracelets, and necklaces! Her Violin is ready to go, and tomorrow she will be off to begin a new school year! I am ready to be back on schedule, and have a better routine down at home! I have been busy working, and doing church things! Today we went disc golfing for the first time and it was a blast. I was not too good at it, but it was fun. We will now begin the craziness of school, work, and holidays!!!!

So I haven't posted in a long time, sorry! Cade is busy with friends, and going to daycare. She is going back to school soon and it will be nice to be back on schedule! We did the school shopping, and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be! Today we found out that she got her transfer so she gets to stay at the same school!!! And she will have the same teacher as last year, which is good since I love her!

I have been busy with work, hosting Game Nights, and Classes at my house, and helping my new neighbors settle in. It has been a very busy few weeks for me, but good busy! We are going to go on Hellgate next weekend at that should be a blast! I am also teaching my first class at Church next Sunday so I have been busy studying and preparing for that, wish me luck!!! Other than all that we have been just relaxing and hanging out, and getting things ready for when summer is over! We are doing good, and love you all!!!

Goodbye Burny....

So yesterday was Elder Burningham's last day in Grants Pass. It was pretty tough saying goodbye to him, and I pretty much dreaded it all day long. This kid came into my life in early March, and we have had nothing but good times ever since. He has taught Cade and I a lot about Church, and his knowledge is incredible. I really didn't anticipate the goodbye being so tough, as I have said goodbye to a lot of people in the last few months. Elder Burningham, Cade, and I have a ton of inside jokes that nobody else would probably think is funny. And we have shared a lot of laughs. I will miss this kid!!!!

River Time...

So most of this weekend was spent at the River, or some form of water. Friday night we took a lil' trip to part of the Rouge, it was nice, but the current was a little strong where we were so we didn't play much in the water. Saturday we headed out to the Illinois River, but after driving up most of the road we decided to turn around. The road to get to a good part of the Illy is CRAZY, and much like risking your life so we decided it wasn't a good idea. We then drove back into Grants Pass, and ended up at Fish Lake. It was fun!!! We played the rest of the day in the water, and rented a motor boat that we took around the lake. Today after church we headed back to the Rouge, there were a lot of people there, but it was a great time! The river is the place to be when it is HOT outside, and you don't have AC!!!

So I have been disconnected from the blog world for a little while. It is really hot here, and my car doesn't like it at all!! If it gets too hot it won't start at all. Main relay is out, BOO!!! It is getting fix later this week, and until then my dear friend Angie is letting me use her car, so I am not stuck without a car. Cade is busy swimming at daycare a few days a week, and doing lots of reading. She is no longer a baby, and growing very rapidly into a young lady. I don't think I am ready for all that, but here we go! This will be the first year of school close shopping that she will have a definite opinion about what is bought! We are planning a trip to Utah, and it should be a blast. Other than that we have just been hanging out at the river with our friends, and enjoying the summer!

Cade the Hobo!!!

Cade loves hobos, don't ask me why because I don't know. She just does!!! Well, the missionaries called today and told me that they had something for her and wanted to bring it over. They were very excited about it on the phone. A little later they came with a hobo stick, that had candy, and tattoos in it, and a sign. Cade, of course LOVED IT!!!

Today Cade tuns 9!!! It is amazing to me how much she has grown, and how fast. I really don't know where 9 years yet, but they did. This year Cade has grown a lot physically and mentally. She has gone through two clothes sizes, and one shoe size. She is reading at a 6th grade level, and using huge words. Her attitude has grown with this too! Cade has taken a liking to chewing gum, and thinks it is very cool to blow bubbles. She blew a big bubble at church, that popped and made a big noise, so now the rule is NO BUBBLES in church!!! She also got the responsibility of riding her bike to school. I don't know what this next year brings, but I am sure it will bring lots of good times! I love Cade more than she will ever know, and I am looking forward to many many more years with her!!! Tonight Cade and I enjoyed a quite evening with dinner, and homemade ice cream cake. The neighbors brought her some presents, and we visited with them. Saturday is her party, and she is excited~!!!

Good Advice, from a Good Friend...

To the homeless man every warm meal is a miracle. The fact that we are more fortunate than others doesn't mean it's any less of a miracle. It's a blessing in and of itself to be able to use the miracles God has given us and turn them into miracles for another. I received this today in a e-mail from a good friend. It made me smile and thought I would share it with all of you. It is so true, and reminds me that I should be more willing to unselfishly help others that may be less fortunate than me!

We had a pretty nice and relaxing weekend! Cade and I spent most of Saturday walking around downtown. We went to Grower's Market, The Bible store, The Kitchen Store, and stopped at the Pharmacy for lunch and milkshakes. It was pretty awesome! The weather is fantastic, and it looks like summer just might be here. Today we went to church, enjoyed some delicious biscuits and gravy that I made after church, and we are now just relaxing.

I don't have much of anything new to report. I have been busy with work, housework, and church things. But that is all pretty normal. Cade is anxiously awaiting next week as it will be her 9th birthday, and the last day of school. I can't believe how much she has grown, it happens so fast. I am looking forward to this weekend being a less busy one, and catching up on some missed tv shows I have recorded, and some sleep!

Our Memorial Day weekend was busy! We started it off Saturday morning with breakfast with the neighbors, then walked downtown to watch the parade. Then a BBQ with some friends. We got Cade's bike all ready so that she would be set to start riding it to school. Cade and I walked to the park to see Rob at the Carnival. We walked around and checked out the booths before walking home. Monday we went back to the park with my friend and her mom so they could check out the booths. Then we went shopping with them all around town. Then BBQed at the neighbors for Monday night! It was a fun busy weekend!!!

Today we said goodbye to our friend Elder Bruton. He got transferred to another town, so we will be keeping in touch with him through good ol' snail mail. It is sad to see him go, but he is needed other places. The rest of my week is going to be all about work! We have two hours overtime for the rest of the week, so come Friday I am going to be tired!!!!

The Task...

The task is to make a compound machine. This is a machine combining one or more simple machines (pulley, lever, wedge, incline plane, screw..etc...). OK, so when Cade came home from school with this project my first thought was WHAT IN THE HECK ARE WE GOING TO DO???? I pretty much went straight into panic mode, I am not a "put things together" type of person. Last night I asked the missionaries for ideas and this is what we came up with. A incline plane, pulley system to help lift heavy objects up, and into a truck or something. After work I went tot he store, and gather the necessary parts. Cade and I put it together, and it works good. So I am grateful that it was easy, and that it is done. Tomorrow we have to work on the speech to go with the project, that will be the not so fun part!

Can't breath...

So today I get a call at work from Cade's school. They say to me "Cade is here in the office, she is OK but can't breathe"....ummm...if she can't breathe she is not OK! I had to go pick her up, take her home, give her a breathing treatment, then take her back to school. Not a huge problem, but wasn't expecting to get a call saying that my child can't breath! The weather is rainy, and cloudy! And I really want summer to get here fast!

I can't believe that 2010 is almost half over!!! That is just plain crazy! Cade will be turning nine in a few weeks, and also will becoming a 4th grader! Where does the time go? So I thought today that I would recap the first half of my year. I went on a crazy spiritual journey, and along the way I found some amazing people. I also discovered a lot about myself! I have worked a lot, spent a lot of time with friends, and shared many laughs. 2010 has thus far be way better than 2009, and here's praying that it will continue that way. I also have written more letters this year than I think I have in my whole life. I guess that is what happens when you get new friends that can't use the phone for awhile. It is actually kinda fun to wait for a reply to your letter, and I guess it is a good way to keep the letter carriers employed!!! Snail mail is fun!!!

Often times I find myself in wonder about other's life's, and question myself why someone might be the way they are. A lesson I learned years ago is that you may miss out on a fantastic friendship if you judge someone by appearance, or even before getting to know a little bit about their story. A huge misconception people have about me is that I don't really care about them, or that I am "cold hearted". I will be the first to admit that it is pretty hard to get a real deep connection with me, but it is not impossible. This is a direct effect to various people hurting me, and a direct effect of me allowing them to do so. As much as I don't really want to admit it, here I am ten years down the road, and the effects of knowing that I lived with and befriended someone that took my boyfriend's life has had a profound effect on me. It makes it very hard for me to trust people, and even harder for me to want to connect closely with others. After enduring a controlling and physically abusive relationship, followed by a verbally abusive relationship it just makes it that much harder. So until you know someones story, don't judge them. Don't pin point them as a certain type of person, and if you really want to get to know them spend the time to do so. I love everyone of my friends, you all know who you are, and I love my family. Thanks for the mini-therapy session!!!!

Cade and I have had a busy week. I am pretty excited that it is Friday tomorrow!!! We don't have much planned for the weekend. Maybe a walk to the Grower's Market on Saturday morning (weather permitted) and then some company for dinner. Church on Sunday, and that is about it. It should be a nice relaxing weekend. Work is still busy, and we are still putting in overtime. I guess I will be happy about that when the paycheck comes! Cade is also counting down the days until she is a 4th grader! I am not sure if I should rejoice in this or cry. She is growing far too fast, and with life being so busy sometimes I feel like I am missing it! She also is getting ready to level up in Karate.

Cade has strep throat, really no big surprise since I had it, and a lot of kids at school have it. She is finally on the mend, and will go back to school tomorrow! I am just hoping that it doesn't go in a big circle, and come back to me! New toothbrushes, toothpaste, inhalers, and pillows were bought, and all linens washed, and house Lysoled...hopefully that will do the trick!

Today I hurt my back...it hurts bad, and I am thankful that tomorrow is Friday. I seriously have no plans for the weekend. I am going to sleep in on Saturday, do laundry, clean my house, and try not to leave the house at all on Saturday! I am very excited about this, and hope that it actually happens. Cade is doing great. She seems tired today, so I am sure she is glad that Friday has arrived as well. She wants to rearrange her room, so Saturday we will work on that project. It might turn more into an argument between her and I because she wants her stuff in ridiculous spots, but she might just win. After all it is her room!

So really I don't have anything too exciting to report. Our good friends the Funks, and the Elders came over for dinner last night, we had a great time! The Funks are leaving on Friday, so I am going to have to find something to do on Friday nights now! BOO!!! Cade and I both will miss them a lot. Other than that it is just back to work, and school. So this morning as I went to my car to leave for work my trunk was open, my passenger side door was open, and my glove box was open...all not good signs!! Sure enough someone broke into my car!!! They got away with my purse..that pretty much had my life in it!!! I had to cancel everything, call the police, and figure out how to get money out of the bank so that I had some cash for the weekend. Well, a couple ladies that were walking on my street found most of my stuff strung up and down the road, thank goodness I got most of it back!

Other than that the day was pretty uneventful. I went bowling with the Funks, it was fun! And this weekend I am hoping for some relaxing, house cleaning, and good times!!!

Easter

Our Easter weekend was very busy! We had General Conference..that is a conference held within our church twice a year. It is held at Temple Square in Utah, and then broadcast to those not able to go. We went to four two hour sessions, two on Saturday, and two on Sunday. It was incredible. Lots of great words were shared! In between the two session on Sunday I decided to go back to the Dr. because I still wasn't feeling all that great. I had clogged sinuses. They gave me Claritin-D and I am feeling a lot better! We also dyed Easter eggs with our friends Matt and Dianna, and Kenzie came too! The eggs turned out great, and it was a lot of fun. Easter dinner was held at the Funks, and the missionaries came. It was wonderful!!! Thanks, to Matt and Dianna for a great meal!!! After we ate we played this great game called Jungle Jam. It is kinda hard to explain but I am addicted. You can't buy it anymore, but after much research I found a game called Jungle Speed that appears to be close..so I might have to check that out.

My cousin Colleen had her baby today!!! Her name is Mia, I haven't seen her yet because I am still taking antibiotics, so I am going to wait until she comes home!

Cade and I had a great weekend with our friends. We started it off right with a movie night! We watched The Blind Side, it is amazing!! Saturday we laid around until we went to The Seussical, it was really good. Sunday was church, and then Easter Devotional that was amazing! My car died, and I am hoping it will be fixed tomorrow, without too big a hit to the wallet!!!

So last night Cade and I went to game night at our friend's house. All of a sudden Cade was coughing a lot, and got really tired, and started acting a lil' weird. I thought she just might be tired since it was past 10 so I decided to go home. Well, I noticed that she had broken out in hives all over her body. I tried to call the on-call Dr. but they didn't answer, her cough was getting worse, and it was sounding like she was having a hard time breathing! I took her to the hospital. By the time the Dr. came in to check her the hives were gone! Crazy!!!! She is better, and the Dr. says that she must of had a reaction to something...but who knows what. It was scary, she has never had hives before, and certainly not like that!

Today I went to Cade's parent/teacher conference she is doing great in everything! She still needs a little help in math, so I am going to talk to a lady at church to see if she can tutor her. I have a head cold, and Cade is battling a sore throat, she goes to the Dr. tomorrow so hopefully we can get that addressed. Dinner with our friends and the missionary went well, yes I said missionary! The new missionary that arrived got appendicitis so he has been recovery after getting his appendix out since he arrived here. So he couldn't join us for dinner. We had a wonderful meal, and wonderful company! I am hoping for a low key week, and weekend, but you all know how that goes!

I am so glad that Friday is here, and that the weekend has begun!!! Work is crazy...we can't get caught up so we are working overtime everyday, it is not too bad just one extra hour a day, but by the time Friday comes I am tired!!! Cade didn't have school Thursday or Friday because they are getting ready for report card time. It was actually good that she could just go to daycare so that she could rest, and try to get her asthma under control. She seems to be doing better, and will go back to the Dr. on Tuesday. I have conferences with her teacher on Monday, I am sure she is doing fine, maybe a little struggle in math, bu that is all I plan on really having to discuss. Tonight we went to game night at our friends the Funks..they are great! We always have fun when we hang out with them...sad that they are moving away soon. Our friend Elder Brunko got transferred to a new town this week too, so that was a bummer, but plan on keeping in touch through letters. Tomorrow we are going to go grocery shopping, do laundry, clean the house, and cook dinner for the Funks and the Elders, it should be a good time. I am not all that excited about the time change, that is just going to make for another long week, but ehhh...I guess we will adjust. It is also pouring rain, which is to be expected this time of year here, but I am done with it!!! It also snowed on Tuesday!!! Cade and I went to church for a lesson on Tuesday, we were in the church about an hour and a half and when we came out we had to brush our car off to drive home, RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!

Just a quick update on Cade.....we just got home from the Dr. her asthma is OUT OF CONTROL!!! So she is going back on all the maintenance drugs that she has been OK without for over a year. This is a huge step backwards in the progress of her asthma. The meds are very expensive, and not what I wanted to hear, but what needs to be done will be done. She also will be having weekly check-ups with the Dr. until it is under control. So there it is!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last night Cade and I went to a BBQ with the Elders and new members of our church. It was a ton of fun!!! Cade played tagged for a good hour out in the woods, we enjoyed good food, a bon fire, and great company. Cade is not feeling well, and got sent home from school today. She is going to the Dr. in about an hour! Hopefully we can figure this out because I feel so sad for her, and I need to stay at work! I also have a very busy week, which makes it a lil' difficult with a sick kid. I am bummed I didn't take my camera to the BBQ (very unlike me). But it happend so I have no pics of our fun night. My work is CRAZY busy!!! Overtime everyday this weekend, yes, even on my birthday! My paycheck will be nice, but Cade and I are both coming down with a cold, so we are very tired. Today I started my new shift and within ten minutes of being at work I did a nice job on shattering some glass that then smashed a computer screen...thankfully my day got better. Time flew by and before I knew it it was time to go home...and I actually got in a hour of overtime! Tomorrow Cade will stay at daycare until Karate is done so that gives me about three hours of mommy time!!! I hope to get some laundry done, go tanning so that I can avoid getting the lovely "farmer's tan" this year, and maybe get a few groceries! On Wednesday night Cade and I will be joining some friends for game night at their house, this should be a lot of fun, or it could be a disaster since I am the only one with a kid...so we will see if we get invited back! Our weather is beautiful during the day and I am hoping that it stays that way, I am ready for spring!!!!

Our weekend has once again come and gone. It was a good one! Traci came and visited for a night along with some other friends of mine. Cade spent Saturday with her Best Friend Angela, they went to the Family Fun Center and had a blast. Today after church Cade and I took a walk and took some pictures it was a lot of fun. Tomorrow I start my new schedule and I am very excited to be getting off three hours earlier in the day!!! This week ahead will seem long due to the new schedule but in the end it will all be worth it!

I have been so busy!!! I was looking at my calendar today and everyday has something (other than work) until at least next Wednesday!!! YIKES!!!!!!! Today I started doing my new job at work, and it made my day go by way faster!!!! Other than all that it has been work, visits with friends, and homework for Cade. Cade did get her yellow belt in Karate last week so she is excited about that!!!! And is doing some sort of reading Olympics at school so she is reading like a mad woman!!!!! On Friday I went to a nice families house for dinner! It was one of the most amazing dinners I have ever had. We had a wonderful pulled pork salad that was delicious, and then we topped it off with these things.....I thought I would share the recipe, I am thinking about making them in a few minutes!

Oatmeal Carmelitas
Prep Time: 25 minutes
Cook Time: 25 minutes
Ingredients:
2 cups flour
2 cups quick cooking rolled oats
1-1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup butter, melted
14 oz. pkg. light caramels, unwrapped
1/3 cup light cream
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup milk chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 13x9-inch pan and set aside. In large bowl, combine flour, oats, sugar, soda and salt and blend. Add melted butter and mix until crumbly. Reserve half of crumb mixture (about 3 cups) for topping. Press remaining crumb mixture in bottom of greased pan.
In a small bowl, combine caramels and cream. Heat in microwave oven for 4-6 minutes on 50% power, stirring twice during cooking, until caramels are melted and mixture is smooth.
Sprinkle chocolate chips and pecans over reserved crust. Drizzle evenly with melted caramel mixture and sprinkle with reserved crumb mixture.
Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 1 hour or until completely cooled. Cut into bars.

Cade and I are moved into our new home, and loving it. Cade loves having her own room, and I love not having her toys all over the house. Cade is fighting a cold, and I am keeping my fingers crossed that this doesn't turn into a major thing. I have a busy week ahead of me, and I will share the news of what I am doing in due time. Decision I have made are not easy for people to understand, and I have been ridiculed for sometime now, and I just want you all to know that the decision I have made is a very personal one, and one that I feel is right for me. Tomorrow is the day that we are moving. I dislike moving so much, that I am not even excited about it. I just want it to be over with. Cade having her own room will be awesome, and a little bigger place all together will be great, but I don't want to move all of my stuff. Moving 2 times in six months is no fun, but we will survive, and in the end it will all be worth it.

Here is a picture of the car my friends baby and husband were in when they got hit. Thank God that they are OK. Both baby and husband are home from the hospital, and seem to be doing good, sore, tired, but good. It is really a miracle that they survived. This really puts what I thought were huge problems into prospective. So what if I can't buy new shoes when I want, or that I don't always get enough sleep, or that I have to deal with some dumb child support issues. It makes me think that no matter what there is always someone with a far more bigger problem than mine, and that I should be grateful for the things I have. Cade, our health, our home, our loving friends and family...and much, much more.

In other news I still don't have a move date, but I haven't really looked into it, I guess I should call him today and find out what is going on. I still have no idea what is going on with all the child support stuff, I guess I will find out on Thursday.

So first I would just like to say thank you for all of you that read my blog. I have gotten 570 hits on it, which amazes me that people are that interested in what I have to say, but thank you, and if you read it I love you!

Cade and I will be moving, yes, again. Hopefully this weekend it will begin. The opportunity came open to use to move into a bigger apartment, it is just one door down from where we are now, so it will be a easy move. Cade will finally, after two years have her own room, and she is very excited about that! She has grand plans of what her room will look like, and what will take place in her room. She is already planning out a slumber party. She has also requested that I get her a talking bird so that when someone, yes even me, comes into her room the bird can chant "intruder, intruder"...HA HA HA. I had to laugh about this one, but no talking bird will be coming to our house anytime soon.

Work is slow, and I need it to pick up. I have also found myself on some sort of spiritual journey if you will, to find what is missing, because there is a void, and I need to figure it out. Hopefully soon it will be resolved, because this is all I have been thinking about for the past few weeks.

I want to challenge all of you to say hi to a stranger, or even smile at them in the next few days. You might be surprised at how it makes you feel, and probably will make that persons day just a little bit brighter!

Our Christmas...

Cade and I had a wonderful Christmas. We left Thursday afternoon to meet my dad in Medford. He picked us up and we were on our way to Klamath Falls. We got to my dad's house, and walked into a house full of food, and family, and the festivities were underway before we could even put our bags down! The kids looking at the presents under the tree, eating snacks, and visiting! We had our Christmas Eve prime rib dinner, it was wonderful, then the kiddos opened some presents. Cade was very surprised that her Uncle Greg got her a Wii, and even more surprised that Santa brought her the Barbie Camper! She had a lot of fun seeing family, and playing the Wii with Grandpa, and Grandma, but was a little disappointed in the lack of snow in Klamath Falls! I also enjoyed spending time with family, and seeing some of my friends. I am excited for the New Year and to see what it brings. I hope you all had a wonderful and blessed Christmas, and hope your New Year is just as good!

Cade and I are getting ready for our lil' mini-vacation to Klamath Falls. It will be very nice to see family and friends. Cade is excited about the snow, and Santa's arrival of course. I am excited to say goodbye to 2009 and pray that 2010 has a little more to offer. This week should be a good one. Cade is on Christmas break so I just have to drop her off at daycare, no packing lunches, or her backpack, it is kinda like I am on a break myself. I don't work tomorrow, so we get to just hang out at home again!! And then I only have two days and we are out of here for awhile!! Yes!!! I love Christmas time!

Orthodontist...

So today I had to take care of some business at the dentist office, and I decided to ask them about one of Cade's permanent teeth. One of them is coming in really far back, like not even close to where it should be. They recommended that she come in for an appointment, and that she will probably be sent to the Orthodontist. WOW! I am not at all financially prepared for an orthodontist bill, but the tooth can't stay where it is wanting to be. So her appointment is on the 28th, and from there we will just have to see what happens. Thank God for double coverage on the dental insurance!!! Hoping that a lot of what seems to be a pile of bills will be taken care of with having two insurance companies. Other than that work is slow, and we are gearing up for Christmas.

I am sooo ready for 2009 to be over with!!! It has just been one of those years that I hope will never repeat itself again!!! But 2010 has some good stuff, I can feel it!!! One my best friend Mandy will be having her lil' Emily!!!!! Hopefully Cade and I can find ourselves on a fabulous vacation, and I have made a pact with myself to not involve myself in anyway with people I find to be toxic to Cade and I...yes, even if that means family. Some of the decisions will be hard, and have been hard to make, but if I look at the big picture most of them really have been made for me! Cade and I are doing fabulous living our life! We have been in our house almost a half year already...the time has gone by so fast, but it is good. We both LOVE having our own house, and really having no one to answer to. We laugh at each other a lot...and that is the best part!!!! We are counting down the days until we get to go spend sometime in Klamath, and get a lil' break from school and work! Thinking of taking some pics tomorrow and if I do I will post them!!

Report Card...

Cade's report card was good, pretty much what I expected. She excels at everything, and really doesn't have to try to achieve, it just comes very easy to her...except math. She is not getting the concepts in math, and now that she is a third grader it is becoming more difficult. I am hoping to get her a tutor after Christmas so that she can have a one on one with someone to help her get the concepts. I want to be able to provide her all the tools she needs to have a successful life, and if that means a tutor, then that is what it means. Other than that we are gearing up for Christmas, I am pretty much done shopping. We are going to Klamath and it is going to be freezing!!! But I am glad to be going to my Dad's for Christmas!!! Christmas Party

Cade enjoyed a weekend with her friends doing Christmas stuff. We painted ornaments, watched Christmas movies, went to the parade, and they ate, and ate, and ate. It was a lot of fun, and the kids had a good time. Work is slowing down, it is nice because I am less stressed. The Christmas tree is up, and there are a few presents under it. Cade and I will be going to Klamath for Christmas, and we are looking forward to that. Tomorrow I have Parent/Teacher Conferences and I am hoping that goes well. Our Thanksgiving

Cade and I had a nice relaxing Thanksgiving with my wonderful friend Carol and her Mom! It was nice to be surround with friends that love us. We had a wonderful meal, and some drinks, and good conversation. Work was slow today, and Cade and I will be enjoying a relaxing weekend. Thinking of getting the Christmas tree, but that may wait a little bit because I don't want it to be dead by Christmas.

Today Cade and I spent sometime at Rob's celebrating his birthday. Rob's mom is here from California so we got to spend a little bit of time with her too. The bond between Rob and Cade is something very special, and I am blessed that he is a part of her life. Watching them together is fun to watch because the act silly, and understand each other on a completely different level then anyone could understand either one of them. Though Rob and I are not good together I am grateful that we can still be friends and have a good time together. He plays and important role in Cade's and my life, and he is one of the few that I know will always be there for me and her.

Cade and I have enjoyed a relaxing weekend so far. We laid around the house until 2, and then set out for lunch, and to get some paint to paint our windows. Now we are back to relaxing, and going to play a board game soon. Who knows what we will find to do tomorrow, but I am sure we will come up with something. So Cade and I just got home, it was a long day. Work, School, and then she had a concert...pics to come later. She is tired, I am tired, we are going to bed.

Word has been circulating around my job that we were going to have to start paying for some or all of our health benefits. FREAK OUT!!!! The quotes that they were originally showing us were crazy, and there was NO way I was going to be able to afford it. Well, yesterday they announced that they will still be providing us insurance with 100% paid by them. WHAT A BLESSING!!!! I must say that my employers do try there best to keep us happy, and I am very thankful to them for keeping our insurance!!!!

I am hoping to start Christmas decorating, and some fun lil' crafts with Cade this weekend, but we will see how far we actually get with that!

I Don't Even Know What to Call It.....

So this blog tonight is a lil' on the might be too truthful side, as well as the TMI side, with a lil' of the sad side. I just want all to know that I am OK....actually better than OK. I made a huge mistake, learned a big lesson, and will bounce back like a super bouncy ball!!! This is just the plain truth and raw feelings of how I felt when I wrote this earlier tonight, and thought I would share it with you all. The drama is finally over, I finally have had enough, and I finally came to my damn senses to realize he won't ever change, never intended to change, and played me like a piano. Over the weekend I finally stood up for myself, and I really think he hasn't ever really had a girl do that before...but I am better than that for sure, that is definitely not the life I am looking to live.

So I am letting go today. Letting go of the hope of us together forever, and the hope that I had that you would change your ways. In the last six months all you have proven to me is that you are a liar, and a cheat, and I should of ran away from the beginning. I beat myself up daily that I allowed you into my life in such a personal way, and that I let you into my daughter's life at all. You have broke me, if that was your goal you beyond accomplished it, and someday you will realize that you can't continue running around, talking smooth with your mouth, praying on single mother's promising them love, and a better life than they already have. You have made me realize that my life is fantastic, and all it has been with you in it chaotic, so I am glad that my life can go back to being GREAT, and I can get back to my old self again. I hope that you realize that as you continue your journey, and quest to see exactly how many girls you can have at one time, that you truly are destroying life's, making life more difficult for those that are already struggling. I also hope that through your experience with me that you learned there are ladies out there that will stand up for themselves, and not take your crap, you know ladies that respect themselves enough to know that you are toxic, and that they don't need you in there lives. I am very glad that I finally stood up for myself, and my only regret really is that I didn't do it along time ago. I thought you and I were so meant to be together, after crushing on you in High School for two years, and then reconnecting with you 10 years later I really thought it was fate, I really thought it might be my turn to get my prince charming, but I opened myself up to quickly to you, and got burnt. You never had good intentions, you only wanted one thing, never wanted the things you said, and never intended to keep any of your promises. You know the things I have been through, abuse, alcoholism, and I told you from the beginning it is hard for me to let people in, but this, what you did is more heart breaking than taking a beating, or having an alcoholic say horrible things to me. What you did is evil, flat out, evil, pure evil. I hope you get help because you have a problem, you lie so much that you can't tell the difference between the truth and a lie. I wish you well in your life, and hope that someday you find what it is you are seeking that will fulfill your need to destroy others life's. My daughter deserves better and so do I, and you don't deserve us at all! YOU ARE A PREDATOR AND YOU SHOULD HAVE A WARNING LABEL!!!!

Other than that my car is running like crap, work is busy, and life is wonderful!!!

Just simple Life

Nothing really that exciting to report. Work, laundry, dishes, house cleaning, some T.V. watching...and that is about it. Cade spent a few days with Rob, he built her a swing in his back yard so she likes to be over there so she can swing away. It is cold and raining, tis' the season I guess. Cade has a concert next week, I love them so I am excited to go see it. Other than that not too much is going on here, and I think I like it that way!

Today is Jeff's Birthday! I just want to say that yes I still miss him, and still think about him. That is a time in my life that I will never forget. He was a truly unique individual that no matter what was there for me unconditionally. We had a good three years together, and he will forever hold a special place in my heart. He lost his life to save a lil' girl, and he is truly a hero. A devil took him away, and can never bring him back, but the memory of him will last forever. Happy Birthday Jeff...you are very much missed, and loved.

We have carved pumkins, and made our Halloween plans. I need to put some finishing touches on Cade's costume, then it will be done. I am starting to get a cold AGAIN!!!!!! UGGGGGG!!!! I have somehow managed to keep the house clean all week! Work is still busy, and crazy. Our insurance is changing again, and it still sucks! Other than that it is just the same ol' stuff different day around here.

So today as I realized that it is almost November I started reflecting on the year. I can say this was for sure not the best year of my life...but also not the worst! I am finally feeling settled into my home...and actually loving it!!!! Cade has grown so much this year it is amazing. I too have had to look deep inside and find a lot of strength to make it through some really rough times this year. I am however very gratefully to be living on my own, taking care of Cade, and making the best out of it all. I have trimmed a lot of fat out of my life...yes real fat, and just a lot of negativity that people were surrounding me with. I am now living my life for Cade and myself, and really not giving any thought as to what others may think about my decisions. I am at peace, and it feels good.
