New Specks

Here is a picture of Cade with her new glasses. She loves them!!! She had a basketball game tonight, we lost, but the girls played hard. It is time for bed I will catch up more later. O yeah that would be raviolis all over her face LOL!!!

A little story before I go to bed

So tonight at basketball practice on of the other moms asks me if Cade told me what happened at recess yesterday. My first thought was "O no what did Cade do?" I replied to her "no". So she began to tell me that her daughter and Cade were playing and that a robber ran through the playground and said Hi to them and that Cade told her friend that they should run away, OK so now I am freaked out!!!!! The mother goes on explaining that her daughter said there were police chasing this man and that the man had a bag full of money!! OK really what is going on? Her daughter goes into all this detail about how the kids got brought in from recess and the principal talked to the classes and let the kids know that all the doors to the school were locked and that they were all safe, and that the police had caught the guy. The mother told me that she was pretty sure her daughter wasn't making it up because of all the detail. So after practice I ask Cade "What happened at recess yesterday?" She calmly replies to me "Nothing". So I ask if a strange man talked to her, and she says no. OK something weird is going on here. I keep asking and finally she says "O yeah I remember that!". OK folks the kid loves to tell me about who pukes in her class, or who got into trouble, but no big deal that a man being chased by the cops tries to talk to her. Just goes to prove that the little ones have interesting days too.

And thank God all kids are safe and no one was hurt!!! And thank God that Cade wasn't too freaked out and knew to run away!!!!

The First Game

Cade had her first basketball game tonight. The team did really good! We won 20 to 16! GO FIRECRACKERS!!!! It was really cute to see all the little ladies playing basketball, they did a fabulous job!

History has been made

Today I watched proudly as our first African-American President was sworn in. I am glad to see our nation has come so far when just 60 years ago blacks and whites could not go to school together, eat at the same restaurants, or drink out of the same water fountains. It is truly amazing to me. I am glad that Cade, and I got to witness this historical event.

Happy MLK Day!!!

Today has been event full and it is only 4 pm!!! For starters Cade had an eye appointment, and to my amazement she needs glasses!! She is farsighted, so needs glass to see things up close. I am hoping that this is the reason she has been getting headaches, and hopefully after she gets her new specks she won't get them anymore. She is very excited, she picked out her glasses all by herself they are yes its true HOT PINK!!! They are cute, and she can't wait to get them. I am nervous that she will loose them, or break them and that I will be buying a new pair of glasses every month, I better add that into my monthly budget!!!! Hopefully, she will be responsible with them. I will be posting pictures of her with them as soon as she get them, about a week.

She also had a homework assignment for MLK day. She made MLK cupcakes, they are good. A chocolate base with a cream cheese topping symbolizing the mixing of blacks, and whites. Cade is very much into the black history thing so it was a fun project for us to do.

I have been cleaning my room up, and just got done mopping the house. The one chore I hate, but it has to be done. I hate hardwood floors!

Tomorrow is back to work and school for Cade. This weekend she has plans with Rob so I am not sure what I will be doing, maybe I will spend a me day at the mall!!!

It's been awhile

So I have been a total slacker blogging, sorry! I have been really busy working, and doing the home stuff, along with basketball practice. Cade is doing good at basketball her first game is on Wednesday, we are excited for that. It is really cute watching all these girls play! Cade is the smallest on her team, and needs to learn to be more aggressive, but hopefully it will all come in time. Cade and I spent the day in Medford together last Sunday, lunch, some shopping, and a movie it was really nice to have that girlie time with her. We had a blast together. Other than that it has just been the same ol' work, basketball, homework, bed routine at our house. We are all ready for warmer weather, it is freezing here!!! I promise to blog more often, so don't give up on it, keep checking for updates!!!!

Weekend News

I had a pretty relaxing weekend. I got the house back in order, and Cade ready to go back to school. She spent the night with her friend Harrison this weekend giving me a lot of time to get stuff accomplished. I am really ready for everything to get back on schedule. Tonight the girlies are playing the Wii, we got it connected through wi-fi and they are enjoying playing Mario Cart against Greg. It is pretty cool that they can play video games with someone that is all the way in Indiana.

New Year

Just a quick update. Cade and I had a quite night at home for New Years. We are just relaxing and taking it easy after all the holiday mumbo jumbo. I am ready to go back to work, and have Cade go back to school. She starts basketball on Tuesday, so I will be posting pics of that for you all to enjoy. I hope you all had a wonderful New Year.
